When I started elementary school about 30 years ago, my life wasn’t quite complete.
Sure, starting school was a very big step. It made me feel like more of a human being than I was back in kindergarten.
But there was still something missing, and that was the status of “pioneer.”
You see, where I grew up (Zagreb in Croatia, in what was then Yugoslavia), all first-graders went through a ceremony in November where they would wear a little uniform and make a solemn oath to study hard and listen to their parents and be constructive members of society.
After you took the oath, you became a pioneer, which meant something back when I was six.
Here’s why I bring this up.
On Tuesday, June 27th, I’ll be kicking off a 5-week online course about essential oils.
This course is intended for beginners to essential oils — people who have heard about oils, but who aren’t yet sure how to use them, who are confused about safety issues, and who haven’t figured out who to trust among the many conflicting sources of aromatherapy advice out there.
I’m calling this course Essential Oil Pioneers.
That’s because, if you are just a 1st grader when it comes to oils, then this course will make you an EO Pioneer — a constructive member of the aromatherapy world.
No, you won’t get any kind of diploma.
And no, it won’t make you an aromatherapist or give you a complete understanding of all the various EOs out there.
But you will find out the truth about various popular and occasionally dangerous EO myths. You’ll also learn where to buy your oils (without any allegiance to a specific brand), you’ll know how to use EO topically and by inhalation, you’ll know several dozen recipes for treating everyday health issues with EOs, and you’ll find out how to continue learning about EOs on your own after the course ends.
In short, you’ll discover how to use essential oils safely for yourself, so you can become a beacon of reasonable essential oil use among your friends and your family.
If this is something that interests you, then here is a page which lays out the whole EO Pioneer experience in shining detail:
